However, in addition to its filling properties, Radiesse also possesses biostimulatory effects, making it a versatile product for aesthetic and cosmetic treatments.</span></p><p style="--tw-border-spacing-x: 0; --tw-border-spacing-y: 0; --tw-ring-color: rgba(59,130,246,.5); --tw-ring-offset-color: #fff; --tw-ring-offset-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-ring-offset-width: 0px; --tw-ring-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-rotate: 0; --tw-scale-x: 1; --tw-scale-y: 1; --tw-scroll-snap-strictness: proximity; --tw-shadow-colored: 0 0 transparent; --tw-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-skew-x: 0; --tw-skew-y: 0; --tw-translate-x: 0; --tw-translate-y: 0; background-color: #f7f7f8; border: 0px solid rgb(217, 217, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: #374151; font-family: Söhne, ui-sans-serif, system-ui, -apple-system, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Ubuntu, Cantarell, "Noto Sans", sans-serif, "Helvetica Neue", Arial, "Apple Color Emoji", "Segoe UI Emoji", "Segoe UI Symbol", "Noto Color Emoji"; font-size: 16px; margin: 1.25em 0px; white-space: pre-wrap;">The main active ingredient in Radiesse is calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA), which is a biocompatible and biodegradable substance. CaHA has a unique property of stimulating the production of collagen, a protein that provides structural support to the skin. When Radiesse is injected into the target area, the CaHA microspheres act as a scaffold for new collagen formation, leading to a volumizing and rejuvenating effect over time.</p><p style="--tw-border-spacing-x: 0; --tw-border-spacing-y: 0; --tw-ring-color: rgba(59,130,246,.5); --tw-ring-offset-color: #fff; --tw-ring-offset-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-ring-offset-width: 0px; --tw-ring-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-rotate: 0; --tw-scale-x: 1; --tw-scale-y: 1; --tw-scroll-snap-strictness: proximity; --tw-shadow-colored: 0 0 transparent; --tw-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-skew-x: 0; --tw-skew-y: 0; --tw-translate-x: 0; --tw-translate-y: 0; background-color: #f7f7f8; border: 0px solid rgb(217, 217, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: #374151; font-family: Söhne, ui-sans-serif, system-ui, -apple-system, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Ubuntu, Cantarell, "Noto Sans", sans-serif, "Helvetica Neue", Arial, "Apple Color Emoji", "Segoe UI Emoji", "Segoe UI Symbol", "Noto Color Emoji"; font-size: 16px; margin: 1.25em 0px; white-space: pre-wrap;">The biostimulatory properties of Radiesse make it useful for a variety of applications beyond mere wrinkle correction. It can be used to improve facial contours, restore facial volume loss, enhance cheekbones, and rejuvenate hands. By promoting collagen synthesis, Radiesse helps improve skin texture, elasticity, and overall skin quality.</p><p style="--tw-border-spacing-x: 0; --tw-border-spacing-y: 0; --tw-ring-color: rgba(59,130,246,.5); --tw-ring-offset-color: #fff; --tw-ring-offset-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-ring-offset-width: 0px; --tw-ring-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-rotate: 0; --tw-scale-x: 1; --tw-scale-y: 1; --tw-scroll-snap-strictness: proximity; --tw-shadow-colored: 0 0 transparent; --tw-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-skew-x: 0; --tw-skew-y: 0; --tw-translate-x: 0; --tw-translate-y: 0; background-color: #f7f7f8; border: 0px solid rgb(217, 217, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: #374151; font-family: Söhne, ui-sans-serif, system-ui, -apple-system, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Ubuntu, Cantarell, "Noto Sans", sans-serif, "Helvetica Neue", Arial, "Apple Color Emoji", "Segoe UI Emoji", "Segoe UI Symbol", "Noto Color Emoji"; font-size: 16px; margin: 1.25em 0px; white-space: pre-wrap;">The procedure involving Radiesse is minimally invasive and performed in a healthcare professional's office. The product is injected into the targeted area using a fine needle, and the treatment duration depends on the extent of the procedure. Some individuals may experience mild discomfort during the injection, but it is generally well-tolerated.</p><p style="--tw-border-spacing-x: 0; --tw-border-spacing-y: 0; --tw-ring-color: rgba(59,130,246,.5); --tw-ring-offset-color: #fff; --tw-ring-offset-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-ring-offset-width: 0px; --tw-ring-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-rotate: 0; --tw-scale-x: 1; --tw-scale-y: 1; --tw-scroll-snap-strictness: proximity; --tw-shadow-colored: 0 0 transparent; --tw-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-skew-x: 0; --tw-skew-y: 0; --tw-translate-x: 0; --tw-translate-y: 0; background-color: #f7f7f8; border: 0px solid rgb(217, 217, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: #374151; font-family: Söhne, ui-sans-serif, system-ui, -apple-system, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Ubuntu, Cantarell, "Noto Sans", sans-serif, "Helvetica Neue", Arial, "Apple Color Emoji", "Segoe UI Emoji", "Segoe UI Symbol", "Noto Color Emoji"; font-size: 16px; margin: 1.25em 0px; white-space: pre-wrap;">One of the advantages of Radiesse as a biostimulator is that its effects are not only immediate but also long-lasting. While the CaHA microspheres provide immediate volume and correction, the subsequent collagen synthesis helps to maintain the results. Over time, the CaHA is gradually metabolized by the body, leaving behind the newly formed collagen. The longevity of the results varies depending on various factors such as the individual's age, skin condition, lifestyle, and the treated area but can typically last for a year or more.</p><p style="--tw-border-spacing-x: 0; --tw-border-spacing-y: 0; --tw-ring-color: rgba(59,130,246,.5); --tw-ring-offset-color: #fff; --tw-ring-offset-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-ring-offset-width: 0px; --tw-ring-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-rotate: 0; --tw-scale-x: 1; --tw-scale-y: 1; --tw-scroll-snap-strictness: proximity; --tw-shadow-colored: 0 0 transparent; --tw-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-skew-x: 0; --tw-skew-y: 0; --tw-translate-x: 0; --tw-translate-y: 0; background-color: #f7f7f8; border: 0px solid rgb(217, 217, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: #374151; font-family: Söhne, ui-sans-serif, system-ui, -apple-system, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Ubuntu, Cantarell, "Noto Sans", sans-serif, "Helvetica Neue", Arial, "Apple Color Emoji", "Segoe UI Emoji", "Segoe UI Symbol", "Noto Color Emoji"; font-size: 16px; margin: 1.25em 0px; white-space: pre-wrap;">As with any medical procedure, there are potential side effects associated with Radiesse. These may include redness, swelling, bruising, itching, or tenderness at the injection site. However, these are usually mild and resolve on their own within a few days.</p><p style="--tw-border-spacing-x: 0; --tw-border-spacing-y: 0; --tw-ring-color: rgba(59,130,246,.5); --tw-ring-offset-color: #fff; --tw-ring-offset-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-ring-offset-width: 0px; --tw-ring-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-rotate: 0; --tw-scale-x: 1; --tw-scale-y: 1; --tw-scroll-snap-strictness: proximity; --tw-shadow-colored: 0 0 transparent; --tw-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-skew-x: 0; --tw-skew-y: 0; --tw-translate-x: 0; --tw-translate-y: 0; background-color: #f7f7f8; border: 0px solid rgb(217, 217, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: #374151; font-family: Söhne, ui-sans-serif, system-ui, -apple-system, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Ubuntu, Cantarell, "Noto Sans", sans-serif, "Helvetica Neue", Arial, "Apple Color Emoji", "Segoe UI Emoji", "Segoe UI Symbol", "Noto Color Emoji"; font-size: 16px; margin: 1.25em 0px 0px; white-space: pre-wrap;">It's important to consult with a qualified healthcare professional who has experience with Radiesse or other dermal fillers to determine if it is a suitable option for your specific needs. It involves the use of absorbable threads made of a biocompatible material called polydioxanone (PDO).</span></p><p style="--tw-border-spacing-x: 0; --tw-border-spacing-y: 0; --tw-ring-color: rgba(59,130,246,.5); --tw-ring-offset-color: #fff; --tw-ring-offset-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-ring-offset-width: 0px; --tw-ring-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-rotate: 0; --tw-scale-x: 1; --tw-scale-y: 1; --tw-scroll-snap-strictness: proximity; --tw-shadow-colored: 0 0 transparent; --tw-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-skew-x: 0; --tw-skew-y: 0; --tw-translate-x: 0; --tw-translate-y: 0; background-color: #f7f7f8; border: 0px solid rgb(217, 217, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: #374151; font-family: Söhne, ui-sans-serif, system-ui, -apple-system, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Ubuntu, Cantarell, "Noto Sans", sans-serif, "Helvetica Neue", Arial, "Apple Color Emoji", "Segoe UI Emoji", "Segoe UI Symbol", "Noto Color Emoji"; font-size: 16px; margin: 1.25em 0px; white-space: pre-wrap;">During a PDO thread lifting procedure, the threads are inserted into the skin using a fine needle or cannula. The threads have tiny barbs or cones along their length, which provide traction and anchor the threads in place once inserted. This helps to lift and reposition the skin, providing a subtle lifting effect.</p><p style="--tw-border-spacing-x: 0; --tw-border-spacing-y: 0; --tw-ring-color: rgba(59,130,246,.5); --tw-ring-offset-color: #fff; --tw-ring-offset-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-ring-offset-width: 0px; --tw-ring-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-rotate: 0; --tw-scale-x: 1; --tw-scale-y: 1; --tw-scroll-snap-strictness: proximity; --tw-shadow-colored: 0 0 transparent; --tw-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-skew-x: 0; --tw-skew-y: 0; --tw-translate-x: 0; --tw-translate-y: 0; background-color: #f7f7f8; border: 0px solid rgb(217, 217, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: #374151; font-family: Söhne, ui-sans-serif, system-ui, -apple-system, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Ubuntu, Cantarell, "Noto Sans", sans-serif, "Helvetica Neue", Arial, "Apple Color Emoji", "Segoe UI Emoji", "Segoe UI Symbol", "Noto Color Emoji"; font-size: 16px; margin: 1.25em 0px; white-space: pre-wrap;">The procedure is typically performed on areas of the face and neck that are prone to sagging, such as the cheeks, jowls, eyebrows, and neck. It can also be used to enhance the appearance of other areas of the body, such as the breasts or buttocks.</p><p style="--tw-border-spacing-x: 0; --tw-border-spacing-y: 0; --tw-ring-color: rgba(59,130,246,.5); --tw-ring-offset-color: #fff; --tw-ring-offset-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-ring-offset-width: 0px; --tw-ring-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-rotate: 0; --tw-scale-x: 1; --tw-scale-y: 1; --tw-scroll-snap-strictness: proximity; --tw-shadow-colored: 0 0 transparent; --tw-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-skew-x: 0; --tw-skew-y: 0; --tw-translate-x: 0; --tw-translate-y: 0; background-color: #f7f7f8; border: 0px solid rgb(217, 217, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: #374151; font-family: Söhne, ui-sans-serif, system-ui, -apple-system, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Ubuntu, Cantarell, "Noto Sans", sans-serif, "Helvetica Neue", Arial, "Apple Color Emoji", "Segoe UI Emoji", "Segoe UI Symbol", "Noto Color Emoji"; font-size: 16px; margin: 1.25em 0px; white-space: pre-wrap;">The PDO threads have two main effects on the skin. Firstly, they create an immediate lifting effect, repositioning the sagging tissues and restoring a more youthful contour. Secondly, the threads stimulate the production of collagen, a protein that provides structural support to the skin. Over time, as the threads dissolve, the newly formed collagen helps to improve skin elasticity and firmness, prolonging the effects of the treatment.</p><p style="--tw-border-spacing-x: 0; --tw-border-spacing-y: 0; --tw-ring-color: rgba(59,130,246,.5); --tw-ring-offset-color: #fff; --tw-ring-offset-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-ring-offset-width: 0px; --tw-ring-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-rotate: 0; --tw-scale-x: 1; --tw-scale-y: 1; --tw-scroll-snap-strictness: proximity; --tw-shadow-colored: 0 0 transparent; --tw-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-skew-x: 0; --tw-skew-y: 0; --tw-translate-x: 0; --tw-translate-y: 0; background-color: #f7f7f8; border: 0px solid rgb(217, 217, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: #374151; font-family: Söhne, ui-sans-serif, system-ui, -apple-system, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Ubuntu, Cantarell, "Noto Sans", sans-serif, "Helvetica Neue", Arial, "Apple Color Emoji", "Segoe UI Emoji", "Segoe UI Symbol", "Noto Color Emoji"; font-size: 16px; margin: 1.25em 0px; white-space: pre-wrap;">PDO thread lifting is considered a minimally invasive procedure, as it does not require large incisions or general anesthesia. As the demand for Botox treatments increases, there is a growing need for qualified professionals who are trained in administering this treatment safely and effectively. Hands-on Botox training is an excellent way to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to become a Botox injector.</span></p><p style="--tw-border-spacing-x: 0; --tw-border-spacing-y: 0; --tw-ring-color: rgba(59,130,246,0.5); --tw-ring-offset-color: #fff; --tw-ring-offset-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-ring-offset-width: 0px; --tw-ring-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-rotate: 0; --tw-scale-x: 1; --tw-scale-y: 1; --tw-scroll-snap-strictness: proximity; --tw-shadow-colored: 0 0 transparent; --tw-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-skew-x: 0; --tw-skew-y: 0; --tw-translate-x: 0; --tw-translate-y: 0; background-color: #f7f7f8; border: 0px solid rgb(217, 217, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: #374151; font-family: Söhne, ui-sans-serif, system-ui, -apple-system, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Ubuntu, Cantarell, "Noto Sans", sans-serif, "Helvetica Neue", Arial, "Apple Color Emoji", "Segoe UI Emoji", "Segoe UI Symbol", "Noto Color Emoji"; font-size: 16px; margin: 1.25em 0px; white-space: pre-wrap;">Hands-on Botox training is a practical training course that teaches students how to inject Botox correctly and safely. The training usually consists of a combination of classroom lectures and hands-on practice sessions. During the lectures, students learn about the anatomy of the face and how Botox works to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. They also learn about the various types of Botox products available on the market, their differences, and how to choose the right product for each patient.</p><p style="--tw-border-spacing-x: 0; --tw-border-spacing-y: 0; --tw-ring-color: rgba(59,130,246,0.5); --tw-ring-offset-color: #fff; --tw-ring-offset-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-ring-offset-width: 0px; --tw-ring-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-rotate: 0; --tw-scale-x: 1; --tw-scale-y: 1; --tw-scroll-snap-strictness: proximity; --tw-shadow-colored: 0 0 transparent; --tw-shadow: 0 0 transparent; --tw-skew-x: 0; --tw-skew-y: 0; --tw-translate-x: 0; --tw-translate-y: 0; background-color: #f7f7f8; border: 0px solid rgb(217, 217, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: #374151; font-family: Söhne, ui-sans-serif, system-ui, -apple-system, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Ubuntu, Cantarell, "Noto Sans", sans-serif, "Helvetica Neue", Arial, "Apple Color Emoji", "Segoe UI Emoji", "Segoe UI Symbol", "Noto Color Emoji"; font-size: 16px; margin: 1.25em 0px; white-space: pre-wrap;">In the hands-on practice sessions, students are taught how to prepare Botox injections, how to inject them into specific areas of the face, and how to manage any side effects or complications that may arise. The filler is made up of microspheres of calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA), a substance also found in bones, that are suspended in a gel.</p><p style="background-color: #fefefe; box-sizing: border-box; color: #1f1a3a; font-family: proxima-nova; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.7; margin: 0px 0px 1.75rem; padding: 0px; position: relative; text-rendering: optimizelegibility;">Like HA fillers, Radiesse works immediately to improve the treated area. But over time, the gel is fully absorbed and the body metabolizes the CaHA microspheres, leaving behind your own natural collagen, which lasts for 18–24 months. “In its unaltered form, Radiesse holds up well against gravity, which makes it an excellent filler for areas requiring a significant amount of structure and/or that are impacted by strong muscles, like the cheeks and jawline,” explains <a href="https://www.realself.com/dr/heidi-a-waldorf-nanuet-ny" style="background-color: transparent; border-bottom: 1px solid transparent; box-sizing: border-box; color: #ff8580; cursor: pointer; line-height: inherit; position: relative; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.3s ease-in-out 0s;">Dr. Heidi Waldorf</a>, a board-certified dermatologist in Nanuet, New York, who was on the consensus panel that determined <a aria-label=" (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6467620/" rel="noreferrer noopener" style="background-color: transparent; border-bottom: 1px solid transparent; box-sizing: border-box; color: #ff8580; cursor: pointer; line-height: inherit; position: relative; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.3s ease-in-out 0s;" target="_blank">the preliminary guidelines</a> for using hyperdiluted Radiesse.</p><p style="background-color: #fefefe; box-sizing: border-box; color: #1f1a3a; font-family: proxima-nova; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.7; margin: 0px 0px 1.75rem; padding: 0px; position: relative; text-rendering: optimizelegibility;">Depending on how much Radiesse is diluted, the material has a mild volumizing effect, at best. Instead, it creates the equivalent of a gel mesh. “This initially holds an area more taut, but over time, it acts primarily as a biostimulator to improve the tone and texture and even tighten skin,” explains Dr. Waldorf. Dilutions can be adjusted, depending on the thickness of a patient’s skin and the degree of tissue laxity, to ensure smooth placement. If not properly diluted, the material can look bumpy, especially if it’s injected too superficially. In one study where hyperdiluted Radiesse was used on the neck, researchers injected different dilutions based on skin thickness: 1:2 (normal skin), 1:4 (thin skin) and 1:6 (severely “atrophic” or aged skin). </p><p style="background-color: #fefefe; box-sizing: border-box; color: #1f1a3a; font-family: proxima-nova; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.7; margin: 0px 0px 1.75rem; padding: 0px; position: relative; text-rendering: optimizelegibility;">Diluted Radiesse is injected with a cannula or needle, with or without topical anesthetic, depending on whether Radiesse or Radiesse (+), which contains the anesthetic lidocaine, is used. Several injection techniques are used: for skin laxity, multiple cannula passages are made in patterns that resemble a fan or an asterisk. The material can also be injected in short, linear “threads.” </p><p style="background-color: #fefefe; box-sizing: border-box; color: #1f1a3a; font-family: proxima-nova; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.7; margin: 0px 0px 1.75rem; padding: 0px; position: relative; text-rendering: optimizelegibility;">As a bonus, the dilution eases the filler delivery for the injector. It also reduces filler thickness and facilitates its even spread, encouraging skin stimulation through more direct contact with tissues and minimizing unevenness. </p><p style="background-color: #fefefe; box-sizing: border-box; color: #1f1a3a; font-family: proxima-nova; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.7; margin: 0px 0px 1.75rem; padding: 0px; position: relative; text-rendering: optimizelegibility;">As with any filler injection, there can be a variable amount of bruising and swelling, which normally lasts up to a week. “Although uncommon because of the thinning of the product, if a bump is seen or felt after swelling and bruising have resolved, it can be camouflaged with other filler or broken up with injection and massage,” says Dr. Waldorf.</p><p style="background-color: #fefefe; box-sizing: border-box; color: #1f1a3a; font-family: proxima-nova; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.7; margin: 0px 0px 1.75rem; padding: 0px; position: relative; text-rendering: optimizelegibility;">When injecting diluted Radiesse, less is more to prevent excess swelling, especially when using higher dilutions, says Dr. Waldorf. For instance, when treating the neck, she’ll often use one syringe of Radiesse and then have the patient return in two to four weeks for another treatment. </p><div id="doctorCTA_shortcode" style="background-color: #fefefe; box-sizing: border-box; color: #1f1a3a; font-family: proxima-nova; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; position: relative; text-align: center;"><div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5); margin: 0px 0px 10px; padding: 0px; position: relative;"><small style="box-sizing: border-box; font-size: 12.8px; line-height: inherit; position: relative;">Interested in Radiesse?</small></div><a class="button" href="https://www.realself.com/drsearch?keyword=Radiesse" style="appearance: none; background: rgb(255, 131, 138); border-radius: 10px; border: 1px solid transparent; box-sizing: border-box; color: #fefefe; cursor: pointer; display: inline-block; font-family: proxima-nova, Helvetica, Roboto, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; font-weight: 700; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 1; margin: 0px 0px 1.75rem; max-width: 100%; padding: 15px; position: relative; text-decoration-line: none; text-transform: uppercase; transition: background-color 0.25s ease-out 0s, color 0.25s ease-out 0s; vertical-align: middle; width: 300px;">FIND DOCTORS NEAR YOU</a></div><h2 style="background-color: #fefefe; box-sizing: border-box; color: #1f1a3a; font-family: miller-banner, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 30px; letter-spacing: 0.5px; line-height: 40px; margin: 20px 0px 10px; padding: 0px; position: relative; text-rendering: optimizelegibility;"><span style="box-sizing: border-box; line-height: inherit; position: relative;">The “add-on” effect</span></h2><p style="background-color: #fefefe; box-sizing: border-box; color: #1f1a3a; font-family: proxima-nova; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.7; margin: 0px 0px 1.75rem; padding: 0px; position: relative; text-rendering: optimizelegibility;">Diluted Radiesse can be used alone, “but harder-to-treat concerns, like the neck, chest, and arms, invariably do best with a combination approach,” explains Dr. Waldorf. She says diluted Radiesse is a great adjunct to other tightening and resurfacing procedures, like Ultherapy, Thermage, and Fraxel, because they work together to improve dermal collagen. “Think of combination therapy like assembling an outfit—each piece of the outfit does something different, and together they make the look.” </p><p style="background-color: #fefefe; box-sizing: border-box; color: #1f1a3a; font-family: proxima-nova; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.7; margin: 0px 0px 1.75rem; padding: 0px; position: relative; text-rendering: optimizelegibility;">That said, in one <a aria-label=" (opens in a new tab)" href="https://jddonline.com/articles/dermatology/S1545961617P0900X/1" rel="noreferrer noopener" style="background-color: transparent; border-bottom: 1px solid transparent; box-sizing: border-box; color: #ff8580; cursor: pointer; line-height: inherit; position: relative; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.3s ease-in-out 0s;" target="_blank">study</a> that evaluated the effectiveness of diluted Radiesse used by itself to tighten skin in the upper arms and abdomen, skin thickness significantly increased after a single treatment and 90% of participants and physicians rated the areas very much improved.</p><p style="background-color: #fefefe; box-sizing: border-box; color: #1f1a3a; font-family: proxima-nova; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.7; margin: 0px 0px 1.75rem; padding: 0px; position: relative; text-rendering: optimizelegibility;">Diluted Radiesse is frequently also combined with traditional Radiesse injections. “Most patients want the straight filler effect,” says Dr. Cheung. “Spackling” or “frosting,” as she called treatment with diluted Radiesse, is additional. “You see the effects of the regular filler immediately and then see the collagen that diluted Radiesse stimulates after about a month,” Dr. Cheung explains. “Patients look good from the filler right away, then come back and say their skin looks tighter [and] smoother and that they look a little more lifted.” </p><h2 style="background-color: #fefefe; box-sizing: border-box; color: #1f1a3a; font-family: miller-banner, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 30px; letter-spacing: 0.5px; line-height: 40px; margin: 20px 0px 10px; padding: 0px; position: relative; text-rendering: optimizelegibility;"><span style="box-sizing: border-box; line-height: inherit; position: relative;">How much diluted Radiesse is needed, and what does it cost?</span></h2><p style="background-color: #fefefe; box-sizing: border-box; color: #1f1a3a; font-family: proxima-nova; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.7; margin: 0px 0px 1.75rem; padding: 0px; position: relative; text-rendering: optimizelegibility;">Radiesse is available by the syringe, and, according to the current practice guidelines, treatment typically requires one to two syringes. The face and neck each usually require a single 1.5cc syringe per session, while the chest requires a half to a full syringe. The buttocks require one syringe per cheek (for cellulite and sagging skin), and the thighs need one syringe per thigh area (inner or outer). The abdomen requires two syringes, one each for the upper and lower half. The knees and elbows require one syringe in total (half on each side), and the arms usually need between a half and a full syringe per arm. Compelling data from the largest Phase 3 clinical program ever conducted for glabellar lines demonstrated that DAXXIFY™ was well tolerated and achieved clinically significant improvement with long-lasting results and high patient satisfaction. Notably, DAXXIFY™ was able to demonstrate a long duration of effect while only utilizing 0.18 ng of core active ingredient in the 40-unit labeled indication for glabellar lines. Key to achieving optimal outcomes is understanding different fillers’ unique physicochemical properties and how that affects their behavior in the skin. “There are a lot of different words we use to describe filler properties: stretch, strength, lift and flexibility are just some of them. It doesn’t matter what you call them, you just need to know what goes where,” says Carolyn Jacob, MD, medical director of Chicago Cosmetic Surgery and Dermatology.</span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: "Roboto Slab", sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: 0.1px; margin-bottom: 1.25rem; margin-top: 0px;">The core measure that injectors need to understand when determining which filler is most appropriate for specific anatomical regions is the filler’s rheology—how the material deforms and changes under mechanical stress. For “Rheologic properties of soft tissue fillers and implications for clinical use” (<i style="box-sizing: border-box;">Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology</i>, January 2021), Nazanin Saedi, MD, of the department of dermatology and cutaneous biology at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and colleagues compared the rheology of a wide range of dermal fillers.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: "Roboto Slab", sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: 0.1px; margin-bottom: 1.25rem; margin-top: 0px;">They noted that the rheology of hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers is determined by the degree of cross-linking, HA particle size, gel concentration and length of the HA chains, with cross-linking and particle size being the key characteristics that define a filler’s behavior under mechanical stress.</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: "Roboto Slab", sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: 0.1px; margin-bottom: 1.25rem; margin-top: 0px;">“We often talk about high G’ when you want lift and volume, such as in the cheeks and jawline. But G’ isn’t everything when it comes to rheology and lifting capacity,” says Dr. Saedi. “Things to look at also are cohesivity and particle size. A lot of the Juvederm products have a lower G’, but they have more cross-linking so they’re more cohesive and can provide volume that way. Whereas some of the Restylane fillers use larger particle sizes of HA to provide lift. So, we need to understand that cross-linking, particle size and gel concentration all play a role.”</p><h2 style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Roboto, sans-serif; font-size: 22px; letter-spacing: 0.1px; line-height: 1.3; margin-bottom: 1rem; margin-top: 0px;">Filler Selection and Indications</h2><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: "Roboto Slab", sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: 0.1px; margin-bottom: 1.25rem; margin-top: 0px;">Fillers such as Radiesse, Restylane Lyft and Juvederm Voluma XC offer the greatest lift and lowest risk of deformity against mechanical stress. They should not be injected superficially or in areas with a lot of mobility as they will create noticeable bumps, especially during facial movement. They do offer superior revolumization when used in the midface, jawline or hands. “Ten years ago, all we had were medium and low G’ fillers, so we had to put a lot of filler in the face to get volume and lift, and it did not look natural,” says Mariano Busso, MD, a dermatologist with practices in Miami, Florida and Beverly Hills, California. “These fillers allow you to get the most amount of lift with the least amount of product.”</p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: "Roboto Slab", sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: 0.1px; margin-bottom: 1.25rem; margin-top: 0px;">Proper injection technique when performing deep injections in the cheeks to revolumize will help reduce the risk of granulomas and uneven volumization. “If you inject a lot of filler at once, it can be uneven,” says Dr. Busso. “But if you inject small amounts in tracks around the zygomatic bone laterally or superiorly for cheeks, for example, you nicely distribute the filler.”</p>Coreyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09262037586151599231noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1428706903572948018.post-11938432540030214022021-04-21T09:29:00.004-07:002021-04-21T09:29:47.234-07:00Tetracycline Injections for Undereye Festoons<p> <span style="background-color: white; font-family: "Roboto Slab", sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: 0.1px;">A long-term follow-up study of patients who underwent teatracyline injections for festoons revealed that 59% of patients saw improvement and 67% would repeat the procedure. Authors Brian H. Chon, MD, Catherine J, Hwang, MD, and Julian D. Perry, MD, of the Cole Eye Institute, Cleveland Clinic Foundation, invited all patients undergoing tetracycline injection for treatment of lower eyelid festoons at the Cole Eye Institute, Cleveland Clinic, between 2008 and 2018 to participate in a questionnaire based on the FACE-Q checklist.</span></p><p style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: "Roboto Slab", sans-serif; font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: 0.1px; margin-bottom: 1.25rem; margin-top: 0px;">Of 102 patients who received tetracycline injection during the study period, 61 responsed to the questionnaire. The average follow-up time after injection was 3.6 years. For this study, researchers performed a chart review of 24 patients with skin types II - V who received two or three Tixel treatments. Of the patients, 20 were women and four were men, and the average age of the patients was 56 years old. The treatments were delivered three to five weeks apart in two medical centers (12 from Israel and 12 from the United Kingdom).</p><p style="box-sizing: border-box; margin-bottom: 1.25rem; margin-top: 0px;">Four experienced dermatologists compared standardized clinical photographs taken before each treatment and three months after the final treatment and rated outcomes based on seven parameters (blood vessels and erythema, skin complexion, periorbital wrinkles, pigmentation and toning, pore size, vitality, wrinkles and laxity) on a scale of -1 to 4. The authors also reviewed epidemiology, treatment data, satisfaction and adverse events. </p><p style="box-sizing: border-box; margin-bottom: 1.25rem; margin-top: 0px;">There was an overall improvement in all seven parameters with the greatest improvement demonstrated in skin complexion (2.1 <span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-size: 14.5px;">±</span> 0.49) and periorbital wrinkling (2.09 <span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-size: 14.5px;">±</span> 0.65) followed by vitality (1.7 <span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-size: 14.5px;">±</span> 0.49). Adverse events were transient and included erythem and hyperpigmentation. The average downtime was 1.7 days. </p></div></div></div></div>Coreyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09262037586151599231noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1428706903572948018.post-23449510989619103442019-04-22T12:40:00.001-07:002019-04-22T12:40:33.788-07:00How to open up you accounts to purchase from Allergan, Galderma , and Merz<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;">

Botox® Cosmetic</div>
<div>
Botox® Cosmetic was the first FDA approved BTX-A. It gained FDA approval in 2002 for treatment of glabellar lines. Botox® Cosmetic is used to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe facial wrinkles.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Juvederm® Family of Fillers</div>
<div>
The Juvederm® family of products are injectable hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. Juvederm® XC products include lidocaine for an anesthetic effect. This family of fillers is continuously</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Juvederm® Voluma XC</div>
<div>
Juvederm® Voluma adds volume to correct age-related volume loss. This product is made for deep injections used during mid face volume restoration. Voluma has a combination of different molecular weights, and can last up to 2 years in some patients.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Juvederm® Ultra Plus XC </div>
<div>
This dermal filler is used for deep facial tissue corrections and adds volume to smooth out moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Juvederm® Ultra Plus XC consists of a larger hyaluronic acid particle size that lasts from 9-12 months.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Juvederm® Ultra XC</div>
<div>
Juvederm® Ultra XC is made from a smaller hyaluronic acid particle size so it works well for finer corrections around the lips and perioral area. Primarily for lip enhancement and lip augmentation, Juvederm Ultra XC leads to a smoother finish for delicate areas. This dermal filler can last for up to 1 year.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Juvederm® Volbella</div>
<div>
Allergan’s latest addition to the Juvederm® family of fillers is Volbella® and will hit the market in October, 2016. Volbella® will be used to increase lip fullness and to softer the appearance of perioral lines. One of our instructors and members of the Education Advisor Council will be one of the first practitioners to be trained by Allergan with this new dermal filler. It will be interesting to see how Volbella® works with Ultra XC, and when each one is used. Having first-hand experience with Volbella®, our Botox and Dermal Filler Training course will include this information as soon as it is available.</div>

While it sounds super far-out there, the little-known treatment of carbon dioxide therapy—aka, carboxytherapy—may deserve a solid look, according to newer studies.</div>
<div style="border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: 1.6; margin-bottom: 14px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">

Pincus, MD</span><span style="font-family: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; font-variant-ligatures: inherit; font-weight: inherit;"> </span><span style="font-family: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; font-variant-ligatures: inherit; font-weight: inherit;">explains, the “therapy” was initially developed to minimize skin irregularity because of residual fat deposits after liposuction.</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: 1.6; margin-bottom: 14px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
“Carbon dioxide, the invisible, odorless gas that is part of the air we breathe, is injected just under the surface of the skin using a fine needle,” he says. “According to many studies, it diffuses into the surrounding tissues and causes blood vessels to dilate. Wider vessels mean a stronger blood supply, which brings a rush of oxygen and nutrients to the treated area. Evidence shows the carbon dioxide kills fat cells by causing them to distend, the extra oxygen eliminates fluid buildup between cells, and the skin is stimulated to produce more collagen.”</div>
<div style="border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: 1.6; margin-bottom: 14px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
The result, Dr. Pincus says, is fewer fat cells and firmer, younger skin. “Each injection feels like a strong sting—on a similar level of pain to electrolysis. Practitioners say that it’s more painful than most cellulite treatments but has a much stronger effect. You should notice a difference after one treatment, but a course of between four and six is recommended. Each treatment takes 40 minutes.”</div>
<div style="border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: 1.6; margin-bottom: 14px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
Eugene, OR plastic surgeon Mark Jewell, MD says that while this is not a mainstream treatment (it’s also not FDA-approved) there is some evidence that it works and there are peer-reviewed articles available on the subject. An article published this past summer by <i style="border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Popular Science</i> showed a similar consensus as Murad Alam, study author and vice chair of dermatology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, was quoted as saying he was “pleasantly surprised” that the treatment seemed to do <i style="border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">something</i>. “But we didn’t see the really large changes that some other investigators are reporting. We didn’t see persistence.”</div>
<div style="border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: 1.6; margin-bottom: 14px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
Washington, D.C. dermatologist Farhaad Riyaz, MD offers a similar summary: “It’s a procedure that’s more commonly performed in central America and is rarely performed here in the States,” he says. “In studies, any improvement is transient and is no longer visible after six months.”</div>

</ul>
<div class="" style="box-sizing: border-box; margin-bottom: 1rem; margin-top: 1rem;">
In an effort to increase the size of their testicles, some people are using dermal fillers. According to Metro UK, <a href="https://metro.co.uk/2018/11/08/men-are-injecting-fillers-in-their-scrotums-to-get-bigger-balls-8116964/" style="background-color: transparent; box-sizing: border-box; color: #00775e; text-decoration-line: none;">the fillers are injected into the scrotum</a> to make the testicles appear larger.</div>
<div class="" style="box-sizing: border-box; margin-bottom: 1rem; margin-top: 1rem;">
Typically, people use dermal fillers to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on the face or to plump their lips or cheeks.<a href="https://www.fda.gov/downloads/medicaldevices/productsandmedicalprocedures/cosmeticdevices/wrinklefillers/ucm584838.pdf" style="background-color: transparent; box-sizing: border-box; color: #00775e; text-decoration-line: none;">Dermal fillers are approved by the Food and Drug Administration</a>, but there are caveats: they should only be administered by a licensed healthcare provider, and <a href="https://www.fda.gov/MedicalDevices/ProductsandMedicalProcedures/CosmeticDevices/ucm619837.htm" style="background-color: transparent; box-sizing: border-box; color: #00775e; text-decoration-line: none;">only certain types of fillers are FDA-approved</a>.</div>
<div class="" style="box-sizing: border-box; margin-bottom: 1rem; margin-top: 1rem;">
"Although the FDA has approved certain injectable dermal fillers for use in the face (for example, to enhance lips and cheeks) and the hands, the FDA has never approved any injectable fillers for large-scale body contouring or enhancement," the FDA noted in <a href="https://www.fda.gov/ForConsumers/ConsumerUpdates/ucm049349.htm" style="background-color: transparent; box-sizing: border-box; color: #00775e; text-decoration-line: none;">a release on their website</a>.</div>
<div class="" style="box-sizing: border-box; margin-bottom: 1rem; margin-top: 1rem;">
Using dermal fillers to cosmetically enhance the testicles is pretty rare, since other methods have greater longevity, Dr. Alex Shteynshlyuger, <a href="http://www.dralexurology.com/meet-dr-alex-shteynshlyuger/" style="background-color: transparent; box-sizing: border-box; color: #00775e; text-decoration-line: none;">the director of urology at New York Urology Specialists</a>, told INSIDER. And these fillers are likely not doing what people think.</div>

<div class="" style="box-sizing: border-box; margin-bottom: 1rem; margin-top: 1rem;">
"You won't actually make the testicles larger with injections. The skin around will just have a fuller appearance," Shteynshlyuger said. The injections can, however, lessen sweating and the appearance of wrinkles on testicles, according to Shteynshlyuger.</div>
<h2 class="" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: inherit; font-family: LabGrotesque-Bold, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 32px; font-weight: normal; line-height: 1.3em; margin: 30px 0px 12px;">
The reasons and methods for testicle enlargement vary</h2>
<div class="" style="box-sizing: border-box; margin-bottom: 1rem; margin-top: 1rem;">
Testicle-enlargement procedures have been around for some time, and the various methods range in levels of safety and permanence. Certain members of BDSM communities have used saline or silicone injections to enlarge their testicles, and one member's <a href="https://metro.co.uk/2018/11/07/man-28-dies-after-injecting-silicone-into-his-testicles-8116122/" style="background-color: transparent; box-sizing: border-box; color: #00775e; text-decoration-line: none;">death was attributed in part to the silicone injections he used</a>. The member, Jack Chapman, was part of a particular <a href="https://nypost.com/2018/11/07/man-dies-after-injecting-silicone-in-genitals-mom-blames-sex-cult-master/" style="background-color: transparent; box-sizing: border-box; color: #00775e; text-decoration-line: none;">BDSM group in which members perform body modifications for their leader</a>. Not all BDSM community members partake in such modifications.</div>

"They're like small breast implants, and the procedure takes just a half hour to two hours, and you can go to work the next day," Shteynshlyuger told INSIDER. These procedures can help people deal with the emotional distress that may come with a scrotum that doesn't match mainstream portrayals, he said.</div>

<div class="" style="box-sizing: border-box; margin-bottom: 1rem; margin-top: 1rem;">
"The surface area of the scrotum is at least 10 times that of the lips for example, so the cost would be proportionately higher, as 10 times as much filler is used," Shteynshlyuger said. A typical lip-filler procedure can <a href="https://www.cosmopolitan.com/style-beauty/beauty/advice/a41046/lip-injection-facts/" style="background-color: transparent; box-sizing: border-box; color: #00775e; text-decoration-line: none;">cost between $500 and $2,000</a>, depending on where you live and the doctor you choose.</div>
<div class="" style="box-sizing: border-box; margin-bottom: 1rem; margin-top: 1rem;">
That said, injections are safe, provided the procedure is completed by a certified medical professional who uses sterile equipment.</div>

Medical facilities should avoid regulatory investigations at all costs, and knowing why these inquiries are typically initiated can help you to avoid them.<br />
<br />
Improper Marketing:<br />
There are many mistakes people can make while marketing that can get them involved with an investigation. Since these agencies are generally understaffed a lot of agents begin their investigations by doing internet searches for Medical Spas. terms like Medical Esthetician (which is not a real thing) or any indication that the ownership structure is not compliant might get you an agent at your door. you also might not want to advertise using testimonials with patients names, which would violate patient privacy laws. lastly if you advertise for example that you are the best Botox clinic in your area, you need to be able to back that up. you need to site skills that can be proven. <br />
<br />
No Exam:<br />
If you are doing a procedure at a medical spa, it is most likely going to be medical in nature. It is best to conduct a face to face examination by the medical director or someone who has been delegated to do so by the physician, either an NP or PA. A lot of practices think these minimally invasive treatments do not require an exam. This is why it is of utmost importance to have your Protocols and Procedures in place in your office and signed by a medical director. <br />
<br />
Non-FDA Approved Drugs or Equipment:<br />
Regulators are certain to come knocking at your door if they find that you have purchased pharmaceuticals from overseas, or out of the country. So many people have fallen prey to Canadian and Mexican Botox Purchases. The drugs are much cheaper, but almost everyone gets caught eventually. They will come to your office, they will search your products and take anything away that you have purchased, and worse shut you down. Pharmaceutical companies are compelling the FDA to crack down these types of purchases even if the drugs are the same. <br />
<br />
Improper Oversight (Medical Director or Collaborator) not having the right type of oversight for your practice as a Nurse, NP, or a PA will get you investigated.<br />
<br />
<br />
These agencies are generally overstaffed, so it is unlikely that you will be selected at random for an investigation, normally it begins with a competitor filing a complaint, so just remember that the more successful you become it is of utmost importance that you do things by the book.<br />

<span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">This comprehensive one-day hands-on-training workshop</span> explores the multiple cosmetic applications of <span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Platelet Rich Fibrin</span> <span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">(PRF)</span>. In aesthetics, we all know about PRP but little about PRF. PRF is not a new procedure; it has been used for a long time in dentistry and wound healing, contrary to the hype of the media. Simply, PRF is a semi-solid form of PRP….with a little extra help, to be used as a filling agent. The didactic presentation will include; PRP theory, mechanism of action, the optimal level of platelets needed for angiogenesis (studies noted). Are more platelets better? Does equipment matter? Presentation will include the most recently talked about <span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">PRF – Platelet Rich Fibrin injections.</span>We will discuss PRP as a stand-alone treatment, PRP with fat grafting, PRP with fillers (Vampire Lift®), PRP with Ablative Fractional Laser, RF and high-intensity Ultrasound (deep dermal heating) devices. Discussion of other complementary modalities and protocols used with PRP to enhance treatments, such as microtrauma techniques, micro-needling, photo-stimulation, stem cell attractants, how to incorporate PPP (Platelet Poor Plasma), carboxytherapy and mesotherapy. Primary focus regarding treatment protocols will be on face and neck aging and treatment protocols for hair loss. However, we will also discuss scars, acne, stretch marks, cellulite and more using <span style="box-sizing: inherit; font-weight: 700;">PRP and PRF. </span>A live demonstration will be performed explaining procedure and techniques to bolster your knowledge and ultimately prepare you for the hands-on practice sessions.</div>

Sculptra Aesthetic is FDA approved in the U.S. and has been used worldwide since 1999. Sculptra Aesthetic contains a synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid, which is a biocompatible, biodegradable substance that is gradually and naturally absorbed by the body. Sculptra works by stimulating one’s own body to produce collagen in response to the PLLA6, its main component. It takes 2-3 months to appreciate the correction from Sculptra and the results should last years because newly formed collagen lasts 7 years in other areas of the body.</div>

Creating a Brazilian Butt Lift with Sculptra is an extremely easy procedure to get done. There is no liposuction required, no healing/soreness from fat harvest, no need to sit on donuts. Most cases take between 2-4 treatments. Each injection is done using cannulas for minimal bruising and discomfort. Approximately 4 vials are used per treatment. Long lasting improvements in lifting and fullness should be expected from Sculptra which appears gradually over several months.</div>
